This cake was a new challenge for me as there were so many “firsts” in making it: first time making a white chocolate mud cake (actually first time making any mud cake at all), first time doing a two tiered cake, first time using a rice paper print for decoration and first time making a Hairy Maclary dog which was a bit tricky. Lookwise, it turned out alright didn’t it? and tastewise? I got very good feedback with the flavours 🙂
For the cake, I made white chocolate mud cake layers filled with white chocolate and passionfuit ganache. Both cakes were covered in buttercream and then fondant. What’s left was decorate the fondant on the bottom layer, “glue” on the rice paper print image on the top layer, and position Hairy Maclary the dog in a “bed” of leaves with the 3 bees on the very top.
